This contemporary barn house plan features sweeping roof lines, useful design elements, and charming, rustic materials that all work together to create a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.
You enter the house through a two-story foyer that is flanked by a private study and a theater, with the supremely open, central living core directly ahead. The large, L-shaped kitchen, which has a sizable island in the middle, the open dining area, and the great room—which has folding doors that open to the lavish outdoor living area—are where daily life is concentrated.
Almost the entire left side of the house is dedicated to the master bedroom. The room is well-lit from the many windows, and the vaulted ceiling makes it appear even bigger. Four bedrooms (five if you count the flex room) are thoughtfully arranged around a sizable central activity room on the opposite side of the house. This can serve as an extra room, a workspace, or an additional living room.
