Plan 16917WG

In response to requests for a more manageable New American house plan, we designed this three-bedroom layout (1,988 sq. ft.). You’ll see some similarities to the more extensive design, such the L-shaped porch, the side-entry garage, and the use of a few different types of wood for the façade. The foyer can be entered through French doors (and also to the study). The two sets of French doors on the back of the house open up to a lanai, which can be viewed from the foyer.

The kitchen and family room are connected by a big island that measures 4 feet by 8 feet. The pantry, measuring 6 feet by 3 feet and hidden behind a sliding barn door, is conveniently located near the garage door. With French doors, the master bedroom may step out onto the lanai whenever it pleases. The five-fixture bathroom leads to a spacious walk-in closet. Behind the single, huge garage door of the 2-car side-load garage, you’ll find the utility closet. There are stairs leading to a loft that, if expanded upon, could provide an additional 421 square feet to the home’s living space.

Plan 16916WG is a companion plan that will provide you with even more living space (1,988 sq. ft.)
